Active & Experience
It is not for nothing that our region is also known as the “Tuscany of Germany” and is one of the most popular travel destinations in our country.
The mild climate is characteristic of the beautiful Palatinate. Peaches, grapes, figs, kiwis and chestnuts grow here. And in spring the almond blossom glimmers in the most glorious rosé.
But it’s not just sun-lovers who get their money’s worth in the Palatinate…
There are great things to discover in the idyllic villages along the Wine Route: picturesque old towns with their history, golf courses, extensive cycling and hiking trails in the vineyards and the Palatinate Forest offer numerous outdoor activities.
For culture freaks and shopping queens cities such as Mannheim, Heidelberg, Speyer and Karlsruhe are on the bucket list in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
What kind of person is the typical Palatinate?
As a sociable and cheerful person, he is a real foodie and connoisseur.
The gastronomic diversity and the Palatinate wine have made a name for themselves far beyond the region’s borders. In excellent restaurants, rustic wine taverns and forest huts, as well as in numerous renowned wineries, one thing triumphs above all: the desire for life.
Reasons enough for a “time-out” in the Palatinate.
Picturesque small town with splendor
Tranquil Deidesheim is a 600-year-old wine town on the German Wine Route, on the edge of the Mittelhaardt. It is known as the Riesling town of the wine route.
With its narrow cobbled streets, picturesque castle garden, historic market square and 15th century parish church, it enchants its visitors.
Our favorite tours are compiled here. You can either start straight from the hotel door into the countryside or discover hiking tours in the surroundings of Deidesheim.
In your shoes, get set and go!
The well-developed routes around Deidesheim are great for pedaling. The mild climate spoils you with an extended cycling and hiking season from the first days of spring until late in the fall.
As far as the eye can see, the unique vineyard landscape and the Palatinate Forest offer cyclists wide range of abilities. And, of course, a variety of refreshment stops in huts or wine taverns.
